How does it work?

The standalone detector uses photoelectric sensing technology. So these smoke detectors work on the light scatter principle where the light sources or light sensors are used to detect smoke.
When the smoke enters the detector's detection chamber, the minute particles present in the smoke block the light beam, which makes the sensors reflect light partially. The sensor chamber checks for the accumulation of smoke particles every 10 seconds, and when it detects smoke, it automatically triggers the alarm. So this is the working mechanism of a standalone smoke detector.

Standalone Smoke Detector is a battery operated smoke detector that utilizes photoelectric sensing technology. When the smoke concentration on the site reaches the alarm threshold or the test button is pressed and held down, the LED of the alarm will turn from slow flashing to quick flashing and will give out sound alarm signals.

Standalone Smoke Detector works using the light scatter principle. The alarm contains a pulsed Infra red LED which pulses a beam of light into the sensor chamber every 10 seconds to check for smoke particles.

Two LEDs on each detector provide local 360 visible alarm Indication. They flash every six seconds indicating that power Is applied and the detector is working properly. The LEDs latch On in alarm. LEDs will be off when a trouble condition exists that the detector sensitivity is outside the listed limit. The alarm can be reset only by a momentary power interruption. The detector that initiated the alarm condition will have its red LED and relays latched until reset by panel.
